FACTS ABOUT THIS RUG
Inspiration: 2 rugs were made, both sold. The colour is from the inspiration to found in watching tropical fish which do come in the most amazing colours. These 2 rugs are inspired by the quick and iridescent Barbs.
Size: 1200 x 600 mm (48 x 24 inches). 30 mm (1.25 inch) thick.
Weight: 3 kg (7 lbs).
Made: November 2004.
No of Strands used: 100 strands of varied ply used to create a tighter density stitch.
Yarn: Over 250 different wools used in this rug. A combination of Mixed Fibres 70% Wool, 30% mixed fibres eg cotton, silk, acrylic, lycra.
The body of the rug is hand knitted on handmade needles - made by Rachel John. The tassels are hand knotted. |
